The USA Swimming age group
swimming program is America's largest program of guided fitness
activity for children. Age group swimming builds a strong
foundation for a lifetime of good health, by teaching healthy
fitness habits.
Benefits of Swimming
What are the physical and mental benefits of swimming?
Physically, swimming helps build coordination, aerobic endurance
and flexibility. It also is great for the heart and lungs. While
building muscle, it strengthens bones and is easy on the joints. It
is one of the only sports that a person can continue throughout
their lifetime.
Mentally, swimming helps a child learn to deal with trials and
triumphs through a guided team structure. It also leads to a better
understanding of technical skills. When swimmers learn new
technique they have to think and process how to go about completing
the stroke properly.
Team
Structure
There are two basic levels
on the Northglenn Fusion Swim Club. The division is based on age,
ability, and fundamental skills.
Fusion Black is for swimmers who are younger age and/or needing
more work on technical skills.
Fusion Red is for swimmers who are Senior age and/or technically
more advanced.
Practice
Times
The practice times set out
for the Northglenn Fusion Swim Club are Monday-Friday 6:30PM to
8:30PM at the Northglenn Recreation Center. Fusion Black is from
6:30PM to 8PM and Fusion Red is from 7PM to 8:30PM.
Attendance
Policy
It is up to the
parents’ discretion on which days and how many days per week
their swimmer attends practice. It is highly suggested, however, to
attend as many practices as possible as this will only further
their child in their progress as a competitive swimmer.
